Eigendynamics of Plasma Filled Spherical Microwave Cavity

To fully understand and improve resonance based diagnostic techniques for technological plasmas, the knowledge of complex dynamical behavior of bounded plasmas is crucial. In order to find relations between spatially distributed plasma parameters and the resonance modes of the system, an analytical model is set up. The model is based on the cold plasma approximation coupled with the full set of Maxwell’s equation. The reactor itself is assumed to be a plasma filled spherical cavity in order to allow for an analytical treatment of the model. In this contribution the eigenvalues and eigenmodes of the system are calculated and their dependence on the plasma parameters is discussed.
