goals

The students learn to use the open source computer algebra package „sage“. By solving several small projects during the semester, we are going to see how sage can in particular be content Sage is a powerful tool to solve many problems that appear in cryptography with a rather limited effort.

content

We are going to exemplarily check how to solve systems of (linear) equations, how to compute discrete logs and how to analyze stream ciphers.

Basic knowledge about cryptography, like taught in „Einführung in die Kryptographie I und II“ are helpful but not strictly required.
