goals

The goal of this lecture is to provide an overview about the field of deep learning. First the needed general fundamental terms and concepts form machine learning are introduced. Then different types of neural networks, gradient based optimization algorithms, regularization techniques and generative models will be explained.

content

Deep Learning is a sub field of machine learning, which lead to breakthroughs in several fields of application in the last years (examples are speech and objective recognition and machine translation). Among others deep learning techniques are also employed in the field of IT security.

recommended knowledge

Grundkenntnisse der Linearen Algebra und Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie sind von Vorteil.
